Today’s episode. is going to be powerful and it’s going to help you move through this beginning of the year time where sometimes, you know, there’s a little slump. You know, we get into that place where the luster, the hype has faded. You know, sometimes we just need a little bit of a lift, a push, And I’m here to give you that in a way that feels amazing, that it is powerful and dialed into your growth, And that I can actually slow down my talking because I’m so excited Be tripping over my words But here we’re show you how to grow the hell yes way We’re gonna lean into what I love as my sort of CEO playbook my 90-day Hell Yes plan that really marries Powerful action with results and growth and ease, That’s what we’re here to do So hopefully many of you spend some time at the end of the year reflecting taking time out to be with family, permission just to sit back and rest. I know many people think of those things as a luxury, but I promise you it is one of the most positive, I don’t even know the word, just igniting things that you can do in your business, and it especially is important for growth, and many people, it’s just this random byproduct, this thing that happens, but I wanna tell you that if you did that,…
Jessica Miller (02:18.646)
…i am patting you on the back because it is strategically such a good thing to do and especially intentionally in your business. if maybe you got a little bit less time or ease or that rest that you hoped you’d get at the end of the year, it’s okay, you’re not behind. you get to do that starting right now, and this plan and what we’re gonna talk about today is gonna give you the tools to actually infuse your business with ease and leverage and joy, and that is really what we want.
When we are thinking about growing in a way that feels really good, So everyone is right where they need to be, And today is this opportunity for us to lock arms together and think about what can we do in the next 90 days that is going to give us the most growth, the most revenue, the most profit, and the most energy so that we feel like we are not grinding against our plans, Because sometimes it can be really like that, And sometimes when we get in that place, you know, the things that we committed to, the resolutions that we want, they feel heavy and it doesn’t feel good and people feel behind. Um, and many already feel overwhelmed and that is just a crime, so we are going to find a space here to undo that and to actually give you the complete opposite, and that is like the wind at your back and under your wings so that you can go.
Um, and this is about harnessing your energy, and your momentum in your business customized for you and not on realistic pressure, which sometimes comes with, know, what are your goals and how do we goal set and all of those things. like I said, if you don’t feel fired up right now, nothing’s wrong. Nothing is wrong. This is just a time to really think about how do we do this better so that you can feel like that and that we lean into, like I said, leverage and consistency over intensity and hustling. We don’t wanna be in that place. where we feel like we’re grinding because that’s just not fun, frankly, so things that we want to like lean into and the mindset we want to be in when we’re doing this, we want to think about agility, agile, intentional planning, that’s what we really want. We want simplified goals.
We want things that put us in the head space to create that forward motion and that action that we want to take that’s actually in service to the results that we want to…
Jessica Miller (04:45.07)
…create, and when all those things come together, it’s really, really, it’s a game changer. It really is, so what we want to think about and why we want to do this, and especially when we’re thinking about Go planning in 90 days, so let me take a step back and talk about 90 days. I actually read the 90-day year, and there was also the 12-week year, like amazing, just total game changers for me. I used to do my annual planning…
…still think about my year as a whole, But what I do every 90 days is I lean into my 90 day year, And the reason I do that is because I believe that it is the most focused, powerful, sequestered amount of time that we have the most control over, It is long enough that we can put things into place and see what’s happening with them and make good choices, but it is short enough that we have a higher probability that the actions that we take actually impact what happens in that timeframe.
Sometimes it is very difficult to think about what we’re gonna do 12 months from now or to do something today that is gonna have an impact on something that’s 350 plus days away from where we are now, But when you think about a 12 week horizon or a 90 day horizon and the things that you do now and the decisions that you make, and if you actually are able to take those 12 weeks and instead of thinking of them like just 12 weeks in the beginning of a year, you actually think of the 12 weeks like your year, So every week then becomes like a month of your business or your plan, And every day matters even more.
It becomes super powerful and it keeps people in the game, So I love that time period, and what we can also do, which I also think is really important is that at the end of every quarter, Like I tell my clients all the time with every initiative that they take, there’s a debrief period, so you just completed this 90-day year, you’ve got all this data, all this momentum, you’ve got information. How do you look at that and then make better informed decisions going into the next quarter? And so, when you operate like that, you take what I’m talking about all the time about optimization and iteration, and you actually infuse it into your business plan…
Jessica Miller (07:06.358)
…and you start doing that on a quarterly basis, and what happens is even over the course of 12 months, you have optimized so much in this short period of time because you’re living on these 90 day cycles, and that’s really where it’s like throwing kerosene on your planning and your growth, and so 90 days is a really, really powerful time, so i think it beats annual planning, you know, all day long, every day, so if we think about this hell yes 90 day plan and we think about the goals that we create within that space, we have some guiding principles that i like to always mention to people.
They’re kind of like guardrail guiding principles, and here’s what they are, And I think this is an important thing that you want to keep at the top of your mind as we’re going through what we do in this Hell Yes 90 Day Plan so that you can stay in the lane of maximum output, that’s what we want to do, and we want to do that maximum output with ease, so this is about potency, That’s what it’s about. It’s not about volume. Okay, so here are some of the things to keep in mind. You want your 90-day goals to look like this. You want to look at the things that are going to change the trajectory of your business. What I mean by this is we’re looking for the highest impact things that you can do, activities that you can do, goals that you can have, things you can focus on that are going to have the biggest return on investment.
Another way to think about this is you want to lean into that percentage of things in your business that actually are going to move the needle. We don’t want to be creating just any goals. We want to be taking the most powerful assets and pulling those forward, So, when you think about a goal in your 90-day hell yes plan, needs to change the trajectory of your business. It needs to be something that’s really going to make a difference. Number two, it has to excite you. This is hell yes, so you want to feel it in your body. Are you in a full-on tizzy about these goals? Like, would it be so amazing if you hit and exceeded them? That’s what we want. Number three, we want to look through the lens of it must simplify…
Jessica Miller (09:26.774)
…everything else in your business. one of my coaches years ago asked, like, what is the one thing you could do in your business that if you did this really well, it would make everything after that so much easier? and i remember at that time in my business, it was actually a sales goal, because i needed cash flow, and it was like, hey, if i could just, if i could optimize my sales right now, everything behind that would be better, because i needed cash flow at that time, and people were falling out of my funnel. at the sales conversation, that’s what was happening, so i was like, okay, if i could optimize this thing and i could convert clients, everything else is gonna be easier, and that was one of my top goals, so it needs to simplify the things, other things in your business, right? we’re dialing down complexity.
We’re increasing simplicity, And the fourth thing is it must tie to the profit levers in your business, And I’m gonna talk about what those most powerful things are right now in the beginning of the year. Like this end of the year time, beginning of the year, I talked about this on another podcast and I’ll get to that in a second, but these are the things we want to make sure that it ties into one of those things, because those are your fastest way to cash right now. Okay, So it’s those three things. Must change the trajectory of your business, meaning it must move the needle. It’s to be powerful. It has to excite you and be your hell yes. It needs to simplify other things, everything else behind it in your business, and it must tie to one of the profit leavers that we’re gonna talk about soon.
I have to tell you that where I have seen this work with my clients has been nothing short of extraordinary. I have seen clients who have doubled their revenue by simple add-ons. I have brick and mortar clients. I have service-based clients. One of my clients in particular, they had a workshop. They added on a special VIP tier where they offered premium things, same framework, same workshop. doubled their revenue by just doing that, and by doing that, they also made it more binge-worthy for people to sign up, so it was a double-edged sword with this type of addition. They made more money per order, and then the people that were buying into this thing actually wanted to be in it more, so they ended up filling up all their spots for this workshop, and then they ended up adding on more spaces because they were selling out, okay?
Simple, powerful things…
Jessica Miller (11:53.091)
…that happened in less than two months, so we’re talking about less than eight weeks, and combine that with timing, like beginning of the year momentum, end of the year holiday. my goodness, it is like payday all day long. it’s really amazing, and people are coming in and they’re just thrilled. another example is where i’ve had clients cut their lowest yield offers. i don’t know if any of you can relate to this, but you have a ton of offers in your business. a lot of times we create offers to solve the problem of a bad offer, that’s not how you make an offer better by adding another one because one isn’t performing, but we see that. when we looked across those things, we decided, you know what, these are actually creating a lot of complexity, dragging you down, costing you a lot in both time and money.
Like, let’s get rid of these and they made more money with less offers, so that is what we’re talking about. Okay, so what is this 90-day hell yes plan? Like, let’s talk about that, And I want to break it down to a variety of different kind of components. First, I want to say that it is really important that we carve out time in our business to think about this. I call it a CEO hour, you know, in, like in theme. You could call it whatever you want, but it is a time that it’s on your calendar to look at your strategies, your priorities, your numbers consistently. You wanna carve this space out for yourself so that you can look at your business. If we’re constantly in the doing and executing, we can’t do that, so this CEO hour is really important. I affectionately call my CEO hour the million-dollar magic hour.
It’s actually, it’s 75 minutes, so I… My husband always teases me like, it a magic hour? Because it’s actually 75 minutes and not 60 minutes, Jess. Like maybe, but really what’s magical about it is I am focused on optimizing my business, looking at my strategy, looking at my plan, staying focused to those things that I have decided. After I set my plan, I don’t deviate from the plan, that is actually a big piece of it, And I do the same thing with my clients too. It’s about your best opportunities. It’s about capturing that…
Jessica Miller (14:14.338)
…and then it’s about staying the course, and it is very easy for us to get distracted or shiny object syndrome, or we’re in the group with our other peers and they’re doing some other rando thing and we think that’s the thing we should be doing, but it’s actually not, and very, very infrequently have i ever, or for my clients have i ever recommended that they switch their 90 day plan to any significant extent, because what is your best opportunity right now will likely be your best opportunity four weeks from now or eight weeks from now.
It’s not going to shift that significantly, especially if you are leveraging what is in your business, so that million-dollar magic hour is to stay in touch with where you’re going and what is happening and also to remind you and keep you focused on your brilliant and great ideas and this plan that you have created that is still an awesome opportunity for you. Okay, so having that time is really important, that is one piece of the 90-day hell yes plan.
The other piece are these levers that you can pull in your existing business, So, as I alluded to earlier, in the last episode, if you have not listened to it, you wanna go back because it talks about these levers and it walks you through it, and we’re gonna walk through it here, but it does it in more detail, and it talks about the most powerful levers for you to grow your business and be more profitable with ease right now. These three levers are one of the most important pieces of your business and your hell yes business plan that you can pull forward in your business as you’re starting this new year. The purpose of this is to create powerful results easier, it is about doing things better and not doing new things.
I said it in the last episode and I will say it again that when you cross into the new year, you don’t want to do it with the headspace of new year, new everything, that is a recipe for burning out, overworking and growing slowly. You are here because you are a serious business owner, you have created results, you have assets in your business and the fastest way to grow…
Jessica Miller (16:35.018)
…make money and keep more of that money is to be efficient, to be consistent and to simplify, and that is what we want to do today. Okay, so we’re going to walk through those three levers. I’m going to reiterate them for all of you, but I absolutely invite you to go back and actually listen to that other episode if you happen to miss it or you need a refresher because it goes into it in more detail and embrace this because this is your key to freedom. I promise you, it is your key to freedom, and if you do this, you will see how much you have created and how powerful that is in your business, okay? So, let’s talk about these levers. Also, I wanna let you know that in the show notes, there is a link to a document where you can capture this information.
If you are listening to this in your car, if you’re walking, whatever, I do that all the time too, just think about this as we talk through it, But then when you get home, go and print that thing out, write this stuff down and put it somewhere you can see it, because this actually leads into what I was saying before about staying focused on what it is that you have created that’s in strategic alignment with the goals that you want and not getting distracted, So it is amazing to have that thing in front of you, And if you are somewhere where you’re sitting at your desk and you can go and download that link, absolutely do it because then you can actually capture what you’re thinking about right now, It is also a fillable PDF so you can do that too, So simple takes. practically no time, okay? So, jumping in, what are these levers?
Okay, the first lever that is absolutely powerful in your business and is sitting there are to optimize what is already working. It’s to look at those offers in your business that are making you money and bringing you happiness. They are where hell yes meets cash flow, and not just cash flow, cash flow with ease, which means that it is streamlined and it is giving you a lot of profit, that’s what we want to be looking for, so you want to lean into and double down on these offers. These are the things that are driving most of the results in your business, and that’s where you want to, for every ounce of time that you put into your business, that’s where you want to put it, Because the return on the investment of that is the largest, right?
This is just, if we think about this logically, this is what makes the most sense, but sometimes we forget about it or we’re not…
Jessica Miller (19:02.356)
…looking at our business to understand that. You need to understand that and you want to go there first, so that is one of the first levers that you want to pull in your business in your 90-day hell yes plan. You want to look across a variety of ways in which you could optimize those offers better, so maybe that means the way that you’re delivering them on the backend is improved and more powerful. the way people are coming in and converting through them and buying those offers, like what is that sales journey and can we smooth it out and get rid of the potholes that are in that to make it an easier transition? The easier people go through that, the faster they buy and the more they buy. Can you add things on to this offer that’s going to sweeten the pot? It’s gonna make it more valuable.
It’s gonna make it more powerful and the results are better. Can it also give you an opportunity to even increase the price or change that offer as far as positioning and what is actually included in it so that the average order volume goes up when people actually go to buy this. All those things are about optimizing and not recreating. Do you know what I’m saying? So that is the important piece, so we wanna look at optimizing these offers. The second lever you wanna look at is what I love to call that like low-hanging revenue fruit and cash in your business. where you can look at who has bought from me before, who is in my world, who has raised their hand, and how do I re-engage them. I joke that like re-engagement is the new black, it is one of the fastest ways that you can infuse your business with fast cash.
We all know this; I didn’t make this up. People who have bought from you or know, like, and trust you and they are warm will convert faster, it is so much easier than trying to go to some person who doesn’t know you and convince them about why they should even listen to you, nevermind buy your stuff. You can do that, we need demand and traffic, but it is not easier than re-engaging the people that were already there, so these are the people that maybe you forgot about, and maybe they bought one thing from you back in April of last year and you need to go back to them. They still have problems, they trust you, they’re looking to make their life better. Can you bring them back into…
Jessica Miller (21:23.372)
…the fold with a simple reactivation campaign, and just, again, invite them to come over and solve their problems with you, so simple campaign, simple set of emails that are gonna tell them that you haven’t seen them in a while or you miss them or whatever that is that’s going to invite them in to look at your offer, so we miss you campaigns, we haven’t seen you in a while, we’d love to invite you back, like those kind of things targeted value-driven check-ins, things where you’re actually reaching out in a very customized manner, and you’re giving people something that is valuable to them, and you’re also inviting them to have a conversation with you, right, to check in with them, And again, these are warm people, So many of these people, if they’ve been a client before, they know you, right?
You know them, and so you can actually make this very valuable, and do it from the heart. Like, what can you… say to somebody that’s actually meaningful and is thinking about them and putting them in the center and telling them to come back and engage. Maybe there’s something that you can also offer people that’s sort of special because they are your client or they’re your past client and you’re just carving out a little something for them. For me, I love this. I love high touch. I love my clients and my past clients, so anything that I can do where there’s a little something special for them, that just differentiates it from the public or the masses is super, super powerful, and it makes me feel good. I feel like I’m giving back to them. I’m giving them a ton of value.
It makes the paid offer that I’m offering them in my mind seem like slam dunk and like they’ve hit the jackpot and it’s like a feel-good win-win all around, so that’s what we’re going for. We’re going for that type of thing, but re-engaging, reactivating those people right now that are inside of your business already, blue ocean. Okay, that needs to be part of your 90-day plan, and then last but not least, one of the things we wanna look at is simplifying your offers, connecting those things, making all the pieces work together. This is also an amazing place where you can really leverage some of the tools and automations and things like that, that are coming up. Technology is really powerful in this way for you to simplify, create high touch…
Jessica Miller (23:49.129)
…utilize these things where you’re not needing to do it so manually, And as I mentioned, because I’m super high touch, there are places in my business where I want to be in there or I want a human to be in there, But for many of these things, although the software or the technologies allowing me to touch people, like if I’m leveraging AI or I’m sending a text message or something like that, that is very valuable in itself because I am top of mind and I’m actually checking in, with my clients or with people in my world, but I don’t need to be the one copying and pasting text messages. Do you know what I mean?
So, the systems and the automation can take care of that, and then I get to insert myself where it is most powerful and where there’s most value add, and that is really, it’s a very valuable tool in your business, so you wanna think about like, where can you create those opportunities?
And then where do you make the customer journey linked together, So when we think about like simplified offers, when we make fewer choices for people, we generate more sales and we get back more time, And it becomes a super easy yes if we can do that cohesively throughout our business, So for example, if you have an offer, let’s pretend it’s a 90 day offer and this client is moving through this offer and you can very intentionally create a conversation or a touch point, or you’re weaving things in, you know, at maybe 10 weeks where it’s gonna make this transition to the next offer and solving their next problem super easy, it’s an easy yes, And it’s an easy yes for you, And that simplification and doing that intentionally and thinking it through strategically before actually will generate so much more money in your business more easily.
Nevermind the fact that it is infinitely more cost effective and you will make more profit because what is cheaper than getting somebody who already loves you and is working with you to buy something else? Like think about all the marketing, dollars, time, all of it that you are saving when you can create an environment like that, and that’s what we wanna do, and you could do this across your customer journey, so you could look at this during the onboarding process, like how do you upgrade that? How do you make it better? How do you automate some of those pieces?
Jessica Miller (26:14.946)
You could do it on the backend with clients coming in and having a referral system around those people so that they’re creating a flywheel that generates those people to come back to the beginning, right? They get their friends and those friends cut the line and they come right into your paid offer in an easier way because it’s warm and it is powerful. As I mentioned, renewals, like how do we get them to go from one thing to the next? How do we offer them that next thing to solve their problem…
…in a way that is cohesive and it feels really easy, and all of these things working together just simplify that client journey, and if you can do this powerfully, what you end up doing is making a lot more money on the back end of your business, the long-term value of your clients go up and you can generate X times of business, 10X business growth with the same number of clients. One way to think about this is, for example, many of you probably have an offer that could be repeated. for example, if you’re doing a planning workshop because it’s the beginning of the year, well, let’s say you start instead of thinking about your business in just a year, you think about it in 90 days. Well, guess what happens with your planning workshop?
You will need to offer it and you will encourage your clients to do this every quarter, so if you sold that planning workshop for $200 and then you made a simple path to make this cohesive every quarter to that same client, guess what happens to your revenue if you just focus on doing that? Your $200 client would now become an $800 client because they’re buying that same offer every single quarter, So four times a year, times 200, And guess what? You’ve now forexed your business with one client, right?
This is the power that I’m talking about in that vein, so we want to look through our business from the perspective of leverage, from the perspective of simplicity, repeatable growth, and all of those types of pieces, which make you more money more easily, it’s more fun, and you get to keep more of it, that is what we’re looking for in this corner of the universe. An important piece to point out about this…
Jessica Miller (28:35.03)
…is that it is created strategically, it is created custom for your business, and it really, i think, dials in these important factors of personalization, being intentional, providing a premium experience, and i mean premium in the sense that your clients feel it, right? it is made for them, and that it’s also, it’s trust and relationship driven.
When you’re not doing all the things in your business all the time, you have time to do the things that you do better, and it deepens that relationship, And those are the things that I believe in the year going forward are actually going to convert because people are looking for that more than ever, And some of the technological solutions, the hands-off solutions, they are amazing, And I think every one of you listening to this need to embrace that in your business, but they also can become a black hole for people, And they end up actually creating more complexity and more distraction than helping if you don’t do this the right way, So that trust, that customization that I made for you, kind of feeling that you’re creating intentionally in your business, I think cuts through some of that experience that people are feeling with those types of tools, So when we think about Q1, we want to think about that 90 day hell yes plan, And like I said, those are the pieces.
The CEO, our, those levers, personalization. Make sure you download that document. Make sure that you go back and listen to the other episode if you need a deeper dive, but here’s what I want to warn you of doing in Q1. Here’s the things to cut or stop doing in Q1. Overplanning. Okay. You could create a 90-day plan. It could be brilliant, and you could stick to it. Period. You can do this. You don’t have to overplan. You don’t have to overwork, and you don’t have to over complicate, and if you follow the 90-day hell yes plan, you will not be doing that. Okay, so that’s the first thing. Two, redoing things. Redoing your brand. Fresh everything, right? New year, new everything. You can stop doing that. You could also stop launching new offers prematurely. I want to say side note, nobody loves offers more than I do. I think they’re amazing.
The key is strategically introducing them. Intentionally having them in your business, planning for that, not doing it because everybody else is doing it, and not shoe-corning it into your queue one. Okay, you don’t…
Jessica Miller (31:04.3)
…have to do that, and then if you overwork from a place of feeling like you’re in lack of your planning, that is never a recipe to create the results that we want, and like I said, many times we can get into a place where we think we’re behind, we think we need to do more, we are stuck in the mindset of doing more, creates more growth, and I’m here to offer you the complete opposite. Doing less better will always be your fastest way to cash. It will always feel the best. It will always allow you the space to actually look at what’s going on and iterate on that in a controlled way, and it will always set you up to serve you with a powerful foundation before you expand. There is no better way for you to start your year off than to do this. It might be hard. It might not be the way that your brain is always thinking on autopilot, right?
We are conditioned to what we hear and see and the environments that we’re in, and a lot of people don’t talk about this, but in this corner of the internet, we do, And as I mentioned, go download that show notes worksheet, go in and take the five minutes to jot this down, put it front and center and set yourself on a trajectory to have your most powerful 90-day, hell yes, business plan and a year that is set up. for ease and growth and momentum. I am cheering you on for a powerful Q1. I can’t wait to see you all here next week where we talk about more growth strategies like this, but most of all, I know that you’re all poised to be able to invite that ease in, invite that pause and that expansion in a way that feels good, and do less and make more.
Leverage the assets you have in your business and watch your profitability, and your happiness grow. Until next week, everyone have a beautiful week.
