00:02 – 00:32
Hello everyone and welcome back to the It’s Your Offer podcast. How are you all doing? I am sitting here; it is a beautiful sunny day. If you happen to be looking at the video of this recording, you would see that there is actually sun shining in on the left side of my face. And at first, I was like, hmm, maybe I want to move. Then I thought like, this is so fabulous. I’m just going to sit here and let the sun hit me and I’m going to record this podcast and speak to all of you, which is one of my favorite things to do every week and just soak it all up.
Jessica Miller
00:33 – 01:10
Today’s episode is about soaking it all up. We’re gonna dive into a topic that has the power to completely shift how you run your business and how you feel while you’re doing it. I’d like to dedicate this episode to all of you entrepreneurs out there who think that the only way to grow your business is to do the things that you’re doing, even if they’re not feeling great. That it has to be maybe hard or not feel awesome because it’s just like the path to success. And today I want to share with you that we’re going to talk about keeping your business fun and easy.
Jessica Miller
01:11 – 01:41
I don’t know if I’ve shared with anyone on this podcast before, but people always ask me, what is your word of the year? And I never have words of the year. And so, people will, you know, especially in January, like, what’s your word this year? What are you, you know, what are you focusing on? and I’ve never had a word. So, I decided not too long ago that I was not only going to have a word, but I was going to have two words. And those words were going to be things that I use as a guiding light when I’m thinking about my business, thinking about how I’m running my day.
Jessica Miller
01:42 – 02:19
I’m going to ask myself about these two things every step of the way in my business this year. And those two words are fun and easy. Because here’s the truth. Most business owners are overcomplicating everything. We are preconditioned to make things more complicated. We hear it in the airwaves. It is just sort of a societal undercurrent. And because of that, we are just predisposed to overcomplicating things. Those things like grinding and hustling, like launching new things, adding work streams, chasing cold leads, constantly reinventing the wheel, it’s just what we do. And usually, we’re just trying to keep up.
Jessica Miller
02:20 – 03:07
Instead of creating true momentum and actually doing something that feels good and dare I ever say easy, we’re just making it more difficult. And we’re doing all of this in the name of growth without realizing that we’re actually blocking money, joy, and success from flowing in. And if there is one thing I have learned in my entrepreneurial journey, that when things feel good, when they feel easy and they feel fun, amazing things happen. And I often have this intuitive hit like, you know, I just feel like I’m doing this wrong. But after I have that thought, I would just shove it under the rug and keep going.
Jessica Miller
03:07 – 03:37
Like, oh, it can’t be that fun and easy. Like that can’t be the way forward. And I’m here to tell you that it can be. and you have all done this before and you might even still be doing it in some aspects, but often we forget and we don’t keep it as a priority in our brain. And so today I want to walk you through a simple framework that is going to bring you back to the things that make money and feel amazing while doing it. This is a simple framework. You don’t need to have an advanced degree.
Jessica Miller
03:38 – 04:12
You need to have a pen and paper so that you can talk through these things as we walk through this podcast. And I promise you, you are going to uncover how you can make your business fun and easy while still making money. And I cannot wait to witness you all doing it. Okay, so we’re gonna jump right in. We’re gonna come in hot here. I have two young kids and this is their line lately, that we’re coming in hot, we’re coming in hot with this. So, the first piece of this is really going to be an exercise of looking backwards.
Jessica Miller
04:13 – 04:57
I wanna take a moment for you to reflect. I want you to ask yourself these questions. Number one, I want you to ask, in the last 12 months, what was the most fun you’ve had in your business? Okay, I’m going to repeat this. In the last 12 months, what was the most fun you had in your business? What were you doing? Who were you working with? What lit you up? And if you need to pause this podcast and go and look at your calendar to refresh your memory or look at your planner, do it. But I want you to go back over the last 12 months and I want you to think about what was the most funny you had in your business.
Jessica Miller
04:58 – 05:27
And I want you to write down anything that you can think of that is related to that. What you were doing, who you’re doing it with, what lit you up about it, how did you feel? I want you to really lean into it, okay? So that’s the first question I want you to ask. The second question I want you to ask is, what was the easiest way that you made money? Okay? Maybe that was repeat customers. It was working with the people that you loved working with again. Maybe it was a referral that you got.
Jessica Miller
05:27 – 06:27
Maybe it was a referral from a certain person that just sends awesome referrals. I know I have somebody like that. in Made money while you were doing it and it was just like a no-brainer. Maybe it was that waitlist that you had that you invited all these people on to the next awesome thing that you were launching. Maybe it was that random, spontaneous post about something that you were offering that totally sold out. Whatever it was, it felt aligned and it felt natural and it felt easy. And I want you to think about that. So just going back, in the last 12 months, what was the most fun you had in your business?
Jessica Miller
06:28 – 07:08
Number two, what was the easiest way you made money? And like I said, if you need to pause this podcast and go back into your notes, every time I look at my calendar, I refresh my brain, but I want you to answer those two questions. The reason these questions are so important and it’s so important to look backwards is because these two questions unlock that hell yes zone in your business. It’s that space where success and energy and revenue flow together with ease. This is the foundation. This is the place that you want to build from when you think about running a business that is fun and easy.
Jessica Miller
07:09 – 07:44
And here’s what I want to say as well. When you pull together this information, it gives your brain data. And our brain is always scanning for data. And sometimes we try to convince it of certain things. And it’s just like, yeah, you know, it’s just, that sounds really great. Like maybe for other people, like that sounds awesome. You’re going to make a million dollars, but hey, I’m looking at the data here. What is it telling me? When you combine these outcomes with actual data, your brain’s like, huh, kind of has this moment where it’s like, oh, I can’t argue with the data.
Jessica Miller
07:45 – 08:34
and it literally starts to rewire itself. And when it starts to do that, you elevate your perspective. You literally raise your vibe. This is where it comes from. And the information when you collect it is really powerful in moving you into that vibe and elevating that frequency of yours. We hear people talk about this, you know, it’s thrown around a lot in very, you know, woo-woo type communities. But I’m here to tell you that from a very practical perspective, that phenomenon is what you want to be creating from. Because here’s the thing. When you take this data and go through this exercise and look at where you had fun in your business and where you made easy money and you raise that vibe and perspective, everything you create from this moment forward is going to be different.
Jessica Miller
08:34 – 09:14
It’s different in that headspace. It is different when your brain is armed with this information. That is where you want to build from. You want to build from that place. So those two questions, this part one of looking backwards with those two questions, unlock your hell yes zone. And from there, when you’re in your hell yes zone, you want to be looking forward and you want to be building from this solid foundation of hell yes. This next part is looking ahead. Now I want you to fast forward. We just looked backwards. We identified where you have done this before and where that data really is.
Jessica Miller
09:14 – 09:50
And now we’re going to look ahead. And we’re going to just start by looking 12 months from now. So, the first thing I want you to ask yourself is, what would success look like for you one year from today, 12 months from now? I want you to think about this. Again, you have to pause this, pause it, close your eyes, ask yourself, what would success look like for me 12 months from now? So, we’re in April, it would be April of 2026. What would that look like? and get really specific, right? How would you feel?
Jessica Miller
09:50 – 10:21
Where would you be? What kind of revenue would you be making? What would your time look like? What would your calendar look like? What would you feel like in your energy? What would be lighting you up? What kind of lifestyle would you be leading? I want you to really picture it. I want you to dream and scheme. Let it be expansive. Let it call you. Call to your heart and pull it out. What would that look like? And I want you to write that down, right? What would success look like for you one year from today?
Jessica Miller
10:22 – 10:58
Part of making life and your business fun and easy is to know what that looks like, to know what you want, to get clarity on that. and to be able to see it. And when you write it down, it is very, very powerful. So, what would success look like for you one year from today? Write down all the things, all the things. The second question I want you to ask yourself is what is one way you could get there? So, if you’re looking 12 months ahead, you’re looking at success in your business, what is one way that you could get there?
Jessica Miller
11:00 – 11:39
Not five ways, not a 10-step plan, I just want you to think about one clear, simple, powerful way that you could get there. So that could look something like maybe scaling the thing that already worked, maybe taking that thing that you made money from easily and doing it again. Maybe it’s trimming back some of the fat in your business. I always tell people success, it’s really not about adding, it is about subtracting. It is about getting rid of those things you don’t need that are overcomplicating your life and actually just getting in the way, right?
Jessica Miller
11:39 – 12:14
It’s making room for all that success by simplifying and subtracting and saying no. really is powerful. Maybe it’s a new model that lights you up. So, you’ve got these things in your business, those things that were really fun that made money, but now you’re just going to like rejig them a little. It’s a slightly different model with the same work that you’ve been doing, for example. So, I want you to think about one way you could get there, okay? This is the looking ahead part. Why this is so important is because, like I said earlier, you want to know where you’re going.
Jessica Miller
12:14 – 12:49
And that looking ahead piece, with the foundation of that reflective piece of that hell yes zone, opens up a whole new possibility for you, a whole new way of looking at things. And it lets you dream and scheme. We want you to be expansive, because doing things fun and easy allows you to expand, right? It’s growth. It is amazing. And then we want you to get laser focused on what is one thing you could pour into, one thing that would make that possible. Okay? So those are the two things. What would success look like for you one year from today?
Jessica Miller
12:50 – 13:33
And then what is one way that you can get there? By doing this you have this hell yes zone, this foundation, this strong foundation that you’ve created from reflecting, seeing what’s working, gathering that data, and now you’re combining it with what you want and how you can be efficient and effective and focused in creating that future with ease, with fun and with ease, really zoned into what would that look like? What would it look like if you could do one thing and make it super easy and fun and powerful for you? This next part, let’s call it part three, is where we’re going to pressure test this plan.
Jessica Miller
13:34 – 14:11
Right. We’re going to think about what you want and the one thing that you pick that could get you there. And we’re going to pressure test this plan. We’re going to test this quote unquote one way with a few powerful questions to figure out are we really in this hell yes zone of fun and easiness. Okay, here are the questions. So, number one is, based on what you wrote down, would it be easy? Question number one, would it be easy? Or at least would it feel easier than what you are doing now? Question number one.
Jessica Miller
14:12 – 14:55
Question number two is, would it be fun? Would you actually enjoy it? Is this thing that you wrote down actually fun? The third question is, what would this give you more of if you implemented it? So, if you decided to do this one thing and it was going to bring you on this journey, what would you be creating more of? Right? What would it give you? Would it give you more money? Would it give you more space? More joy? More momentum? What are you creating more of? And then the last question, which is super, super powerful is, is that what you really want?
Jessica Miller
14:57 – 15:36
Sometimes we chase goals that aren’t even ours anymore. We just, it is how can we’re conditioned? It’s the thing we’ve always done. And we create these plans and we create more of something in our life, but it’s not actually more of what we want. So, ask yourself, does this path with this one thing give me what I actually want? And I want you to answer it. If the answer is yes, Great. Now the next thing that you need to do is go and execute it because that is your blueprint for a fun and easy business.
Jessica Miller
15:36 – 16:17
One where you can focus and pour your heart into it. And really with simplicity and accuracy, you can create a business that’s fun and easy that also makes you money. If the answer is no, then you want to ask yourself, what do you really want? What would light you up? and how do you then go back to this part two where you’re talking about looking ahead and using this guiding light of what you want, you can rejig that plan and reverse engineer to get what you want. So maybe for example, you want more space in your business.
Jessica Miller
16:17 – 16:56
I’ll tell you; I went through this. and I’ll give you an example of what I mean by this. One of the things that I wanted in my business was to work with my clients in powerful ways. And one of the offers that I had was the Hell Yes offer, as many of you know, and I would run this offer over 12 weeks. Well, what I found with having a full client load is that a couple of things were happening. I was carrying a lot of these clients for a long period of time and working with them, even as they were getting results in a front-loaded fashion, and so it felt heavy for me to carry all of that for 12 weeks when a lot of the time they didn’t necessarily need it.
Jessica Miller
16:56 – 17:48
And we were just sort of moving along, continuing to create results, but it didn’t feel light. It didn’t feel easy. Also, I started to realize that my clients who wanted a Hell Yes offer, they did not want to wait 12 weeks for one. They actually wanted it right now. And so, I actually reworked my Hell Yes Offer offer to instead of being my Hell Yes Offer program, which was 12 weeks, it is now Hell Yes Offer in a day. and not only was this like hell yes for me, it was hell yes for my clients and it was hell yes in service of what I wanted more of, which was space in my calendar, space in my days, because that marinating and putting things together and thinking about my clients and helping collate all those things, actually I needed space and that’s what I got by doing this.
Jessica Miller
17:49 – 18:28
So, if you need to go back and ask yourself, like, what do you really want? And then from that place, reverse engineer what you can do to get there. I promise you, there are endless possibilities, endless possibilities. And when you’re elevated in that hell yes zone, when you have the data, when you know you’ve done it already, when you know there is a North Star calling you to what it is that you want, you start to get so, so, so creative. You got this. You can do this. You can have whatever business you want, and it 100% can be fun and easy and make you money.
Jessica Miller
18:29 – 19:10
And I will tell you that when you lock into this, it’s actually so much easier than we even sometimes allow ourselves to feel. Because when that ease and flow comes in, a lot of times our brains are like, what? This is an outlier, it’s not gonna last. What if no one else wants to buy this thing? It just like freaks out, because we’re so preconditioned to overcomplicating. But I am telling you, this is how you stop overcomplicating your business, okay? These three phases that I just walked you through, that reflection, that looking ahead, that pressure testing your plan is how you stop overcompensating or overcomplicating your business.
Jessica Miller
19:11 – 19:54
This is how you bring it back to what works and what feels incredible. You don’t need 10 new offers. You don’t need to go chase more cold traffic. You need to double down on fun, easy money makers that are already inside your business. So, this week, I want you to give yourself the gift of clarity. I want you to give yourself the gift of ease and fun and excitement that comes from going through this framework and uncomplicating your business, okay? Getting rid of that overcomplication. Walk through these questions, write them down, journal on them. If you have a team, bring your team into it.
Jessica Miller
19:54 – 20:28
You can really build your next 12 months from this place. Business gets to be easy. Making money gets to be fun. Hell, hell yes. And your success will explode when you operate from that place. I cannot wait to hear all your success. Hell yes to being fun and easy. And if you don’t have a word for 2025, I am giving you permission to borrow not only one of my words, but two. Have an amazing week, everyone. I cannot wait to hear all the success stories. Have a good one.
